A NEW YORK Harbour pilot fell to his death while attempting to board the 6,477-TEU Maersk Kensington in Sandy Hook Bay from a pilot boat, early in the morning of December 30.

The containership had just arrived from Spain. He was taken to hospital on Staten Island, where he died from injuries, said the US Coast Guard, reported Kiev's Maritime Bulletin that specialises in marine casualties.
