THE first Jacques Saade Award, created in honour of the founder of French shipping group CMA CGM, has been awarded to Notilo Plus, a start-up that develops autonomous underwater systems, during Trophees de l'Economie 2018 in Marseilles organised by the French newspaper La Provence.

La Provence wanted to pay tribute to the outstanding entrepreneur and visionary that was Jacques Saade by establishing an award that recognises start-ups displaying strong entrepreneurial values and impressive potential for development.

Founded in 2016, Marseilles-based Notilo Plus develops autonomous underwater systems optimised by artificial intelligence. Leveraging its expertise in artificial intelligence and data enhancement, the company is able to quickly devised bespoke solutions for its customers.

Thanks to its patented location technology, the start-up is globally recognised as an expert in autonomous solutions in the underwater environment. The company designed and built the iBubble underwater drone, setting a new standard for intelligent shooting in underwater environments, CMA CGM highlighted in a statement.

Rodolphe Saade, who presented the award, has proposed that Notilo Plus joins ZEBOX, an international incubator and accelerator for start-ups initiated by the CMA CGM Group earlier this year in Marseilles.
