A CHARTER airplane carrying 87 passengers and crew landed at Montreal's Mirabel airport without deploying one of its landing gears, according to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB).
nolinor Aviation, based in Mirabel, reported an incident last Wednesday morning. Flight NRL 662, a Boeing 737-400 aircraft, took off from Quebec City's Jean Lesage Airport at 9:58 am en route to Wabush Airport in Labrador, with a stop at Saguenay-Bagotville Airport.
While approaching Bagotville, the pilots apparently found a fault with the landing gear and chose to divert to Mirabel, where it landed at 11:24 am, according to flight tracking website FlightAware.
The airline confirmed at 12:45 pm that all 87 passengers and crew were safe and unharmed, according to Montreal Gazette.
'Emergency services responded promptly, and the situation is now under control,' according to the airline.
Photos of the airplane posted to social media show the plane on the Mirabel runway without its left main landing gear deployed, and with its emergency slides deployed.
The TSB was notified about the incident around 12:35 pm. It has deployed a team of investigators to the airport to gather more information and assess the incident.
Nolinor Aviation wrote in a statement: 'We leave it to the appropriate authorities to establish the cause.'
