THE Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) has cancelled the sailing of the 8,566-TEU Hyundai Faith in the Yulan Service next week from Asia to the US west coast.
The ship was to arrive on Tuesday May 21 in Shanghai on a string that rotates through Shanghai, Gwangyang, Busan, Los Angeles and back to Shanghai. This vessel shall take the position of the Tacoma on the following week with ETA Shanghai May 28.

FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy rate increases on cargo from Asia to Africa starting June 1, the company announced.
A US$400 per TEU increase will be charged on all cargo dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk from Asia including China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia to all ports in South Africa.
On the same day, CMA CGM will levy a US$300 per TEU increase on all cargo dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk from Asia including China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia to Kenya and Tanzania.
