MEDITERRANEAN Shipping Company (MSC) has published an updated list of service charges related to container shipping in the US market, effective from January 1.
The details about the revised charges are as follows:
1) Administrative Fee: An administrative fee equal to US$100 per bill of lading (B/L) is applied to the customer in the case of administrative jobs performed in conjunction with the billing of a fee filed in another partner's tariff, or in the event of any administrative job performed at the client's request. This fee will not limit or exclude any other fee.
2) Missed Late Gate Fee for Export Cargo (Ex USA): A missed late gate fee of $200 per container will be billed to the client prepaid all the time the client requires Mediterranean Shipping Company to place the container on a late gate after the ship cut off and the client does not deliver the container as requested and in the due deadlines therefore missing the planned ship.
3) Manual B/L Processing Fee (for Cargo Ex US and Puerto Rico): A $75 charge prepaid per B/L will be charged to all clients submitting shipping instructions via email or fax that need to be processed manually in order to create the B/L. Clients submitting shipping instruction via EDI will be exempt from this fee. This charge will not substitute or exempt the client to pay a B/L fee or documentation fee and/or any other charges applicable.
4) Courier Fee In US: All the time a client needs to have documents sent via express courier MSC will bill a courier fee of $75 per envelope.
5) Switch B/L Fee: In US & Puerto Rico, from/to scope of this tariff is $150 per B/L.
6.) Rollover Charge: A Rollover Charge will apply to all US ports, except Houston and Boston, as follows: a charge of $200 per container will apply in all cases when either of the following occurs:
a.) The customer requests that a container already received at the terminal is rolled to another vessel.
b.) A container is placed on hold by US Customs and eventually sails on a different vessel/voyage than it was received for. This charge in no way includes or limits any other charges, fees, fines, expenses, etc associated with the rollover or customs hold. Storage, demurrage and detention charges apply over and above this charge where applicable.
A Rollover Charge will apply to the port of Boston as follows: A charge of $200 per container will apply in all cases when either of the following occurs: (a) The customer requests that a container already received at the terminal is rolled to another vessel; and (b) a container is placed on hold by US Customs and eventually sails on a different vessel/voyage than it was received for.
7) Houston Rollover Fee (US Export Cargo): Export containers will be assessed a booking roll fee of $200 per unit any time a unit has been stored for greater than seven (7) days and is rolled to a different vessel. Additional booking roll fees of $187 per unit shall be assessed each time the container storage has exceeded the preceding seven (7) days period of storage.
8) Inland Administrative Cancellation Fee: The administrative fee assessed by the carrier when the client requests to cancel the door move. In US & Puerto Rico, from/to scope of this tariff is $150 per B/L.
9) Stop-Offs Administrative Fee: The administrative fee is assessed by the carrier when the client requests to load or deliver the cargo at two different locations. In US & Puerto Rico, from/to scope of this tariff is $100 per stop-offs/container.
10) Dry Run Administrative Fee: The administrative fee is assessed by the carrier when the client is responsible for the unsuccessful pick up or delivery attempt of a shipment. In US & Puerto Rico, from/to scope of this tariff is $100 per dry run/container.
11) Lift On/Lift Off Administrative Fee: The administrative fee is assessed by the carrier when the client requests MSC pay on their behalf. In US & Puerto Rico, from/to scope of this tariff is $100 per lift on/lift off.
12) Pick-Up and Drop Off/Bobtail (Extra Round Trips) Administrative Fee: The administrative fee is assessed by the carrier when the client requests to drop off a container which was booked as live load and pick it up after it has been unloaded. In US & Puerto Rico, from/to scope of this tariff is $100 per pick-up/drop off/bobtail.
13) Layover Administrative Fee: The administrative fee is assessed by the carrier when the driver is forced, by law, to stop and rest since the move will exceed the day allowance of mileage and/or hours mandated by federal regulations. In US & Puerto Rico, from/to scope of this tariff is $100 per layover.
