THE Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has selected IBS Software, a SaaS solutions provider, to reform its air freight operations, reports London's Port Technology.
IBS Software's iCargo system intends to establish a full digital platform that encompasses cargo sales, operations, cargo accounting, and an msc site.
'This is our first step into this market, and we plan to continue exploring avenues to develop air cargo in a way that complements MSC's overall solutions to our customers,' said MSC Air Cargo vice president Jannie Davel.
'We see great potential in IBS Software's capabilities and solutions, through which we expect to harness the power of digitalisation to help achieve MSC Air Cargo's objectives,' she said.
According to IBS Software, this collaboration marks an important step towards the company's aim to achieve seamless operations across multi-modal logistics models.
Said IBS cargo logistics chief Ashok Rajan: 'We're thrilled to embark on this partnership and to support MSC Air Cargo's new business objectives. We're confident the iCargo solution and the team that continuously innovates our products will take MSC's multi-modal business model to new heights.'
In November of last year, MSC took delivery of the first branded aircraft as part of its new air cargo operation.
