On Feb 9 Japanese bulk carrier named Chise Bulker was seized by seven migrants while the ship was navigating off Portland, UK, English Channel according to the Tradewinds report.
On Feb 8 bulk carrier Chise Bulker left Rouen France to its destination Portland. Migrants were discovered by crew on Feb 9 when the ship was approaching Portland, understood Master decided to turn back and sail to Le Havre, to disembark stowaways back to France. The migrants are said to be rioted, tried to break into bridge injuring more then one crew.
The master of the ship who was panicked and distressed, called authorities and asked for immediate assistance.
Later, Master took the control of the bulk carrier back and anchor off Portland late Feb 9. As of Feb 10, the ship remained in the same position.
Then a stetament came from Dorset Police, said: “A total of seven individuals – believed to be Albanian nationals – were arrested by police and escorted from the ship. They will be considered by the Border Force and UK Visas and Immigration for potential offences.”
