MEXICO has supplanted China as America's top trading partner of the United States in the first half of 2019, reports New York's FreightWaves.
For the first half of the year, imports from China fell 12 per cent. In the same period, exports to China fell 19 per cent, according to the US Department of Commerce.
The total value of the bilateral trade of goods between the US and China was US$271.04 billion.
This amount was less than the US bilateral trade amounts with both Canada and Mexico - the first time this has occurred since 2005.
