THE Panamanian-flagged 20,160-TEU Ever Globe was in near collision with the Liberian 50,375-dwt tanker Kriti Emerald in Western Scheldt off Bocht van Bath, Netherlands, reports Rostock, Germany's FleetMon.
Both ships were proceeding downstream towards sea, contact was caused by so-called sucking effect, when ships under way come too close.
Damage was slight, one ship lost her gangway. Both were anchored off Vlissingen in outer anchorage, and while Ever Globe resumed her voyage to Hamburg the Kriti Emerald was at anchor while en route to Primorsk in Russia between St Petersburg and Helsinki.
