MCC Transport splits IA-5 service into 2, calls at Russian ports separately
MCC TRANSPORT, Maersk's intra-Asia line, has split its Russia-Korea-Japan-China-Southeast Asia IA-5 weekly service into two loops, focusing on the China-Southeast Asia, and China-Korea-Japan-Russia routes.
The China-South East Asia service will continue to be branded IA-5, while Russia (Vladivostok gateway) is covered with a dedicated weekly service from China, Korea and Japan, branded RU 1, reported Alphaliner.
The new China-South East Asia 'IA5" loop will call at: Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Yangon (MITT & MIP), Port Kelang (W), Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai), Hong Kong, Shanghai, on a six week rotation, using six ships of 1,100 TEU.
The port rotation of the China-Korea-Japan-Russia RU 1 loop is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Incheon, Busan, Vladivostok (Fish Port + Dalzavod), Hakata and Shanghai. This service is operated on a two-week rotation with two ships, the 1,131-TEU CS Tina and the 1,118-TEU Max Contender.
Of note, Sakhalin Shipping Co Ltd (SASCO) takes slots on this service, participating in the Shanghai, Ningbo and Vladivostok calls, in continuation of an existing arrangement.
