THE weight of containerised overland cargo to Macao by land in September increased 36.7 per cent year on year to 2,213 tonnes, reported Xinhua.
The latest report from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the cargo passing through the Cotai Checkpoint amounted to 1,954 tonnes, an increase of 25.9 per cent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, gross weight of port containerised cargo decreased by 16.5 per cent to 12,558 tonnes, with cargo being handled at the Inner Harbour (6,515 tonnes) and the Kaho Harbour (6,043 tonnes) dropping by 18.9 per cent and 13.6 per cent respectively year on year.
In the first three quarters of 2019, gross weight of containerised cargo by land expanded by 29.7 per cent year-on-year to 14,408 tonnes, while that of port containerised cargo fell by 10.7 per cent to 111,445 tonnes.
