Tanker THERESA SUCCESS refloated
Off the coast of Yeşilköy, the tanker named THERESA SUCCESS, a Tuvalu-flagged 181 meter long and 32 meter wide, which went aground yesterday was refloated around 11 am in the morning.
Since the rescue operations did not started as the rescue agreement was not accepted by the shipmaster in a reasonable time, it was reported that the Istanbul Harbor Master ordered "Ex-officio Rescue Operation" on 18 February at 18:00.
Kurtarma 2 'tugboat belonging to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety until the morning continued the towing all night and Kurtarma 2 and Kurtarma 7 with the assistance of Mehmetçik tugboat Nene Hatun salvage vessel the refloating operation was completed.
