DEUTSCHE Lufthansa AG faces a possible US$6.4 million fine after the US Federal Aviation Administration (F) found that the German flag carrier operated 600 flights into San Diego and Philadelphia without proper approval.
The F said Lufthansa knew it lacked authorisation to fly to the two cities from March 22 to May 27, reported Bloomberg News.
The airline has 30 days to respond to the allegations. Airlines and other companies often negotiate lower fines after F civil complaints are filed.
