PUERTO Rico is positioning itself to become the most important life Science hub in the Americas by launching a new Life Sciences Air Cargo Logistics Community, which aims to bring together all stakeholders of the supply chain, reports Mumbai's Stat Trade Times.
Supported by the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DEDC), the community will include airlines, airports, forwarders, integrators, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, ground handlers, and haulers.
With a focus on improving cargo handling and marketing Puerto Rico's potential in the global Life Science industry, several organizations have already started the accreditation process for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV).
Puerto Rico is the top bioscience manufacturing hub in the United States in terms of export volume.
'We aim to put Puerto Rico firmly on the map as the best quality airfreight hub for life science in the Americas,' said Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DEDC) secretary Manuel Cidre.
