THE General Ports Authority (MAWANI) has announced that the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has added the new shipping service East Africa Express to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
This new development looks to connect the Kingdom to East African ports, reports London's Port Technology.
The new shipping service connects King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with the ports of Mundra in India, Qasim in Pakistan, Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali in the Emirates, and ports in East Africa, via regular weekly trips, with a capacity of up to 11,000 standard containers.
In March, the port achieved a new record for container volume, handling 289,787 TEU.
