SWISS forwarding giant Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) is opening a fulfilment centre in Contern, Luxembourg, expanding its European contract logistics footprint, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The expansion reaffirms Luxembourg as a strategic location for K+N in the centre of Europe.
K+N meets the complex supply chain needs of its customers through integrated value-added solutions.
'Following a promising start 51 years ago, K+N has been growing its multi-modal logistics solutions in Luxembourg continually and now further strengthens its function as a strategic contract logistics hub in Europe,' said K+N honorary chairman Klaus-Michael Kuhne.
'This also underlines our confidence in the business location and the fruitful collaboration with the government of Luxembourg and the local authorities of Contern.' said Mr Kuhne.
Said K+N BeLux managing director Tobias Jerschke: 'The new fulfilment centre perfectly complements our existing e-commerce hub in Belgium, securing fast end-to-end lead times,'
'At the same time, the warehouse roofs perfectly lend themselves to the biggest photovoltaic installation to date by Enovos, Luxembourg's main energy supplier,' said Mr Jerschke.
'Supporting the green energy transition in the country underlines K+N's strong commitment to sustainability as part of its ambitious Net Zero Carbon targets.' said Mr Jerschke.
