HAPAG-LLOYD's Atlantic Loop 3 (AL3) service made its first call to the Jacksonville Port Authority (Jaxport) on November 21, reports London's Port Technology.
The service connects northern Europe to North America and will call jaxport for the next eight weeks.
The temporary addition of the AL3 service brings an additional 8,000 TEU through the port over the next two months.
The current rotation of the service is Antwerp, Hamburg, London, Charleston, Jacksonville and Norfolk.
Jaxport recently set a new container volume record, handling a 10 per cent increase of 1.4 million TEU during the fiscal year of 2021 compared to 2020.
