MUMBAI's jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPA) recorded a 10.6 per cent increase in container traffic during the April-June quarter, reaching 1,688,145 TEU, reports the Press Trust of India.
June alone saw a 19.11 per cent increase compared to last year, when 567,392 TEU was handled.
JNPA chairman Unmesh Sharad Wagh noted this growth is part of efforts to enhance logistics efficiency and ease of doing business.
The port also received approval for the Vadhvan mega port project, expected to revolutionise Indian maritime operations.
