IHS Markit and the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) have announced the IAPH World Ports Conference will take place on March 17-19 in Antwerp at the Flanders Meeting & Convention Centre

Exploring 'Building Transparency, Predictability and Trust', the IAPH World Ports Conference will bring together executives from leading ports, their customers and stakeholders as well as regulators.

Following the first edition of the World Ports Sustainability Programme Awards evening in Guangzhou last May, the IAPH World Ports Conference will again feature a gala dinner awards ceremony.

'Our intention is to reach well beyond our 170-plus port members to the wider global maritime community,' said IAPH managing director Patrick Verhoeven.

'Key issues around trade, digitalisation, sustainable port development and energy transition in shipping depend on all parties collaborating openly with each other. IAPH plans to use the outputs generated as the basis for future policymaking,' he said.

Said IHS Markit vice president Stuart Strachan: 'Our aim is to ensure those from various backgrounds and geographies benefit from the discussions and gain a deeper understanding of how issues affect them and their organisations.'

The three-day conference will feature a mix of panel discussions, one-on-one conversations, hands-on workshops and specialised working events to showcase unique, practical insights from business leaders who have engaged in successful and sustainable cross-industry collaboration.

The sessions will be divided into four tracks to deliver a clear vision for ports worldwide on energy transition, data collaboration, reputation management and business innovation, organisers said.
