HONG KONG airport, the world's busiest air cargo facility in the world, saw freight volumes decline 4.2 per cent in January to 401,000 tonnes.
'Uncertain global economic conditions contributed to decreases in cargo volume in January,' the airport said. Imports and transshipments were affected the most, registering eight per cent and six per cent year-on-year drops respectively.
Cargo to and from Europe and southeast Asia decreased with air freight flights in January declining 1.5 per cent to 4,889 take offs and landings.
