GERMAN shipping line Hapag-Lloyd is launching two new services on the Southeast Asia to Australia tradelane as part of its Oceania product portfolio, starting from the end of October.
The two new services, the Southeast Asia Australia loop 2 (SEA) and the Southeast Asia Australia loop 3 (S2A), will offer weekly sailings between Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia on top of the carrier's existing Southeast Asia Australia loop 1 (SAL).
'Connecting via Singapore on our global mainline network, we will be able to offer increased sailing frequency to/from Australian ports, with more connections and shipping options in both directions for Middle East and Indian Subcontinent,' a statement from the shipping line said.
The SEA and S2A has been created through a cooperation between Hapag-Lloyd, ANL, Maersk and ONE. The services will be operated by seven 8,500 TEU vessels and six 5,700 TEU vessels respectively. Hapag-Lloyd will operate one vessel on each service.
The port rotation for the Southeast Asia Australia loop 2 (SEA) service is: Laem Chabang, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Port Kelang, Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Singapore, Port Kelang, Tanjung Pelepas, returning to Laem Chabang.
The port rotation for the Southeast Asia Australia loop 3 (S2A) service is: Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Jakarta, and back to Tanjung Pelepas.
The SEA and S2A services are due to commence on October 23 from Laem Chabang and on October 25 from Tanjung Pelepas respectively.
