From the Far East - but not Japan - to the Mediterranean and north European ports, there will be a US$200 per TEU increase, and a $400 per FEU hike.
All increases apply equally to dry and reefer cargo.
From Japan to the Mediterranean and north Europe, there will be an increase of $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.
From south east Asia to Mediterranean and north Europe, there will be an increase of $200 per TEU and $400 per FEU.
On the backhaul from north Europe and the Med to Asia and Australia, there will be an increase of $100 per TEU and FEU alike.
Hanjin is also raising transatlantic rates $300 per TEU and $400 per FEU in both directions, again without distinction between dry and reefer containers.
Said the Hanjin statement: "It is inevitable to proceed with the plan in the midst of increasing operation costs. We are seeking various measures to sustain our service quality and schedule reliability and satisfy our customers' needs."
