FRANCE-BASED logistics service provider groupe BBL has acquired South Holland-headquartered Share Logistics Group.
The companies said that Share Logistics Group data, based on the estimated results for 2022, show a combined revenue for the Group subsidiaries that is close to GBP230 million (US$283 million).
This data also shows 'around 50,000 overseas transport files on full year basis representing more than 75,000 TEU of seafreight and nearly 30,000 tonnes of airfreight'.
The companies said Share Logistics Group has approximately 210 employees in 16 offices, mostly in Europe (Netherlands, Spain, Germany and France) and nearly 40 professionals in six offices located in North and Latin America (USA, Brazil), reports London's Air Cargo News.
Share Logistics has been led by founder and chief executive Jan Crezee and a team of managers since its management buy out in 2008.
Mr Crezee said: 'Groupe BBL with its original 'federation of specialists' business model has a proven track record of respect for the local know-how and structures.
'Our company employees will go through a smooth transition period, and we will keep providing our customers and partners with efficient and even wider range of services within the BBL CARGO network.'
Christophe Besset, chief executive of Groupe BBL, commented: 'Share Logistics and Groupe BBL obviously share the same fundamentals: those of a client driven midsize organisation passionate with complex and time critical logistics solutions; those of a human-sized family business focused on employee's expertise and engagement.
'We have a perfect match regarding the complementarity of the two companies. Share Logistics will add new countries to our BBL CARGO 'Overseas Transport network'. Our ambition to build a strong Euro-Mediterranean network has now a continental fully owned footprint in 16 countries with 47 offices and warehouses, and more than 500 employees.
'All together, we get an even stronger impact on the export and import transatlantic trade lanes both in airfreight and seafreight boosted by the addition of Share Logistics business in North and Latin America.
'Share Logistics will also bring its strong expertise in new additional vertical industry expertise (e.g. pharmaceutical, industrial projects, live events and soft commodities).'
