FIVE people have been killed after an Anatov-12 freighter made an emergency landing last Friday morning about a mile short of Lviv International Airport in Ukraine, according to London's Air Cargo News citing the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The aircraft, with eight people on board, was operated by Ukraine Air Alliance, which has seven Anatov-12s in its fleet. It was carrying automotive parts from Vigo Airport in Spain. Three people were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The company says it operates cargo charter flights for business, governments and non-governmental organisations, including the UN and NATO.
Ukraine's Unian news agency described the aircraft as a military cargo plane and it had been scheduled to refuel in Lviv, the BBC reported.
