On July 31, 2018, at 4.45 p.m. a fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Stella Maris', 83 ts (EU-No.: 03011455) at the IJssel dike in Capelle upon the IJssel. The fire spread to the wheelhouse which was gutted by the flames. The ship which was underway to the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam could be pushed to the shore by a work boat of Boskalis, and the fire fighters were assisted by the tug 'RPA 10' of the Port of Rotterdam and Rijkswaterstaat. One person was saved from the ship without injuries. The cause of the fire was yet unknown.
