FINNAIR is not ruling out flight cancellations as the airline prepares for possible changes to its domestic and regional flight schedules in December due to industrial action to be taken by Norra's pilot union FAPA.
The airline said it is leasing an ATR aircraft with pilots and cabin crew provided by Danish DAT. The leased aircraft will be used to operate flights that 'might otherwise be cancelled,' it said.
'We apologise for the inconvenience this situation may cause to our customers. We do our best to ensure that our customers get to their destinations smoothly,' said Finnair chief operating officer Jaakko Schildt.
Customers will be notified of any flight cancellation or changes by SMS text message and/or email. In the event that a flight is cancelled, the airline said that it will re-route customers to their destinations.
Finnair flies between Asia, Europe and North America via is home base in Helsinki, carrying 12 million passengers annually. Its network connects 19 cities in Asia and eight cities in North America with 100 destinations in Europe.
