FEDEX Express has signed a deal to move into a US$58.5 million air cargo complex at Bahrain International Airport (BIA), reports Jeddah's Arab News.
The US multinational courier delivery services company will be occupying a total of 9,000 square metres out of the 25,000-square metre available space in the new air cargo area, of which 5,000 square metres will be warehousing and the rest will be maneuvering area.
'We are negotiating with two other companies wishing to operate warehouses at the new cargo area,' said the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) chairman Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed.
'BAC has a comprehensive plan to attract prominent cargo companies to the kingdom, which will strengthen Bahrain's strategic position as a leading provider of efficient logistics services in the region,' he said.
