IN a move to help Asia Pacific businesses to link up with their global customers, FedEx Express is expanding its International Economy service in Europe.
A company statement said that apart from its existing routes from major Asia Pacific markets including Hong Kong, FedEx has expanded, with immediate effect, the destinations of International Economy service to cover Bulgaria, Malta and Cyprus, and International Economy Freight service to Romania and Estonia, opening up 68 more lanes from Asia Pacific to Europe.
FedEx International Economy service is an affordable, cross-border, customs-cleared, door-to-door service with competitive delivery dates. The service allows customers to save on less time-sensitive deliveries without sacrificing reliability.
The FedEx International Economy service is ideal for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are more thoughtful about the cost of running their businesses, the company said.
'Asia and Europe are now leading trade partners, with US$1.5 trillion of annual merchandise trade. The expansion of FedEx International Economy service destinations in Europe helps Asia Pacific small- and medium-sized businesses who trade with Europe better capture global opportunities,' said Karen Reddington, president, Asia Pacific, FedEx Express.
'With FedEx International Economy service, SMEs are able to reliably and affordably reach their global customers. We are helping to build borderless businesses and create endless possibilities.'
