Egyptian-flagged bulk carrier M/V WADI SAFAGA went aground in the Strait of Istanbul
the 228 meters-ship went agroud at Ahirkapi anchorage this evening at around 20:00 GMT.
Reason of grounding is still unknown.
The vessel is laden with wheat from Russia and destination reported as Alexandria, Egypt.
Tugboat Kurtarma-8 and fast rescue boat Kiyi Emniyeti 3 has been sent to the accident area.
The vessel passed through the Strait of Istanbul and afterwards was on the way to Ahirkapi anchorage, where she went too close to the shore for an unknown reason.
