EASYJET is venturing into West Africa for the first time by introducing two new routes from Portugal to Cape Verde, an archipelago in the central Atlantic Ocean, reports New York's Aviation Week.
Starting in the winter 2024-25 season, the airline will launch inaugural flights to the island of Sal from Lisbon Airport (LIS) and Porto Airport (OPO). Sal will mark the farthest southern and western points in EasyJet's network.
Services from LIS to Sal's Amilcar Cabral International Airport (SID) will operate four times a week beginning on October 29, while flights from OPO will start the next day and run twice a week.
Both routes will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft.
This expansion increases EasyJet's number of destinations from LIS to 32 and from OPO to 29.
