DON Colleran, the former executive vice president and chief sales officer of FedEx Corp, is taking over as the new president and chief executive officer of FedEx Express, effective from March 16.

This appointment follows the previous president and CEO of FedEx Express, Raj Subramaniam, becoming the new president and chief operating officer (COO) of FedEx Corporation on March 1.

Don Colleran has worked with FedEx for three decades and was appointed executive vice president of global sales in 2006, reported The STAT Times, Navi Mumbai.

In 2000 he was promoted to president of FedEx Express Canada prior to moving back to the US in 2003 to serve as senior vice president of international sales.

He began his FedEx career as an international sales manager in Philadelphia before moving to Asia Pacific to lead the region's sales group. Mr Colleran earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire.

He serves on the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Advisory Board, the US-ASEAN Business Council, and as a director of ABM Industries and EastGroup Properties.

The company added that Jill Brannon, a 30-year FedEx veteran, will succeed Mr Colleran as executive vice president and chief sales officer of FedEx Corp.
