DUBAI-headquartered ground handler dnata has achieved good distribution practice (GDP) certification for pharma handling at one of the company's warehouses at Zurich airport in Switzerland, after completely refurbishing the facility and making 'significant enhancements to its quality systems, operations documentation and facilities management practices'.
Said pharma manager cargo Roger Gutzwiller observed: 'Over the past years we've significantly invested in our operations to meet the highest standards in quality and safety and with today's announcement and the constant growth of our customer base our efforts are clearly paying off.
'We stay committed to providing service excellence to all of our more than 30 air cargo customers every day,' he said.
The European Commission's GDP certification relates to the wholesale distribution of medicinal products and ensures their quality and integrity are maintained throughout the supply chain from the manufacturer to end user, reported London's Air Cargo News.
It focuses on systems for warehouses and distribution centres that store and distribute products that are medicinal or carry active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Dnata has achieved GDP certification at its Amsterdam, London, Manchester and Singapore facilities, as well as IATA's Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators in pharma logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification at Amsterdam, Dubai and Singapore.
