TAIWANESE freight forwarder dimerco has been certified to the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals.
Dimerco has established a goal to reduce total Category one and two emissions by 18 per cent by 2030 and to use 100 per cent renewable energy for purchased electricity for offices by 2050.
Earlier this year, Dimerco's subsidiary in China was certified to the ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standard, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The new ISO 14064-1 certification was the result of third-party verification by DNV, which gave Dimerco the highest possible rating for adherence to the GHG measurement standards.
Dimerco's green initiatives include the development of mobile applications to support a paperless work environment, recycling, water conservation and energy saving.
In early 2022, Dimerco began participating in the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) - the recognized global standard for environmental reporting.
This involves completing a climate change questionnaire and providing details of the company's environmental management and governance programme.
A statement issued by Dimerco's Central Service Centre noted: 'Sustainability and responsible operations are important priorities for Dimerco and for our customers, who expect us to meet the highest standards.
'We are working to continually improve our environmental credentials, and the achievement ISO 14064-1 certification verifies the strength of our processes and methodology to measure and reduce GHG emissions.'
