GERMANY's Deutsche Post DHL Group has announced it signed an agreement with Austrian Post to facilitate last-mile parcel delivery for cross-border shipments in Slovakia and the Czech Republic starting next month.
Under the agreement, Austrian Post subsidiary In Time will deliver parcels sent by DHL customers to Slovakia. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post DHL Group's Czech subsidiary, PPL CZ, will deliver parcels sent by Austrian Post customers with a Czech Republic destination.
'After the collaboration with Austrian Post in Austria both parties decided to further use each other's delivery network,' said Petr Horak, managing director for PPL CZ and DHL Parcel Slovensko, reports Seattle's Cargo Facts.
The agreement will have no impact on the business activities of DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, Freight and DHL Supply Chain in either Slovakia or the Czech Republic, Deutsche Post DHL said.
