DB Schenker Arkas worked together with DB Schenker Deutschland AG to transport all the equipment for a new facility that will be installed at BAGFAŞ (Bandırma Fertilizer Factories, Inc.). A tank that was 50 meters long, 6.5 meters in diameter and weighted 200 tons was brought from Italy in January to be installed at the facility.
The tank was brought by a vessel named the MPP-Triumph to Bandırma Çelebi Port, where it was loaded on a 128-wheel truck and transported 10 kilometers in 6 hours to the factory on Erdek highway.
As part of the logistics operation, four break bulk cargo vessels arrived in Bandırma port and oversize materialsof various sizes were delivered to the BAGFAŞ factory under DB Schenker Arkas’ supervision. Before the 200 ton tank arrived, the largest piece weighed 140 tons.
In addition to this break bulk cargo, more than 200 TEU of cargo was also shipped to the BAGFAŞ factory with the coordinated effort of DB Schenker Deutschland and DB Schenker Arkas.Founded in 1969, BAGFAŞ is a leading company in the chemical fertilizer manufacturing sector.
