INTERNATIONAL freight and logistics firm Davies Turner has made the finalists shortlist in two categories of the British International Freight Association's (BIFA) Freight Service Awards.
The company has been shortlisted in the Supply Chain Management and European Logistics categories.
Its work in partnership with a major retail client in remodelling parts of its international supply chain to improve systems and delivery times, as well as reduce costs, formed the basis of its entry for the first category, whilst a neutral e-freight quotation and booking platform for third-party freight forwarders was the focus of its entry in the second.
Davies Turner group chairman Philip Stephenson said in a statement: 'It's a feather in the cap of the staff responsible for the work featured in both our award entries that have been shortlisted, and we are now looking forward to the awards ceremony in January next year when the winners will be revealed by event host, the Paralympian and broadcaster, Ade Adepitan.
'To win one or even both of the categories would be a great start to the new year, during which Davies Turner will celebrate its 150th anniversary under the same family ownership.'
