A violent brawl aboard the 'Carnival Legend' 220 kilometres off the coast of Jervis Bay caused frightened passengers to barricade themselves in their cabins. Australian guests travelling on the 10-day South Pacific cruise on the 'Carnival Legend' claimed two groups of 30 warring passengers have engaged in multiple violent brawls with threats of stabbing and to throw people overboard. Both male and female passengers erupted into an all-in brawl as cruise security attempted to intervene, leaving some victims with savage bruises and cuts. Horrified holidaymakers claimed they feared for their safety and refused to leave their cabins as the fights between the feuding passengers turned into a 'bloodbath'. Chaotic scenes were captured as security guards could be seen repeatedly kicking a passenger after he fell to the ground before another staff member pinned him down. The cruise ship made an unexpected stop in Eden, New South Wales to remove the offending passengers, all members of an extended family, in the morning of Feb 16, 2018, before it heads to Melbourne. The NSW Police confirmed that a police operation was underway at the port on the NSW south coast. Police received reports of passengers fighting on board the 'Carnival Legend', and a number of people are expected to be removed from the vessel. Six men and three teenage boys were removed from the ship and a further 14 passengers, including women and children, also left the ship. The removed passengers were transported to Canberra Airport where other travel arrangements were made. Carnival Cruise Lines stated: 'The vast majority of the guests on board Carnival Legend are enjoying their 10-day cruise holiday to the South Pacific. 'The ship's highly trained security staff have engaged with a small group of disruptive guests and ensured that they are fully aware of and are compliant with our zero tolerance policy. This strong approach is in line with our commitment to safety as the number one priority.' Reports with photos and video: www.dailymail.co.... www.abc.net.au/ne...
