UKRAINE's seaports during the first seven months container volume declined 2.9 per cent year on year to 587, 100 TEU, reports St Petersburg's Sea News.
Russia's largest Black Sea Port of Novorossiysk during the same period was up 11 per cent to 508,400 TEU.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration, export container traffic via the Ukrainian sea ports made 277,500 TEU, down 1.6 per cent year-on-year.
Imports decreased 2.2 per cent down to 286,900 TEU. Transit container traffic via the major Ukrainian ports declined 22.7 per cent to 18,400 TEU.
Odessa handled 388,800 TEU in January-July, up 4.4 per cent year on year. Container traffic via Pivdenniy (formerly, Yuzhny) decreased 17.3 per cent to 388,800 TEU.
Chernomorsk (formerly Ilyichevsk) handled 119,900 TEU, down 17.3 per cent. Olvia Specialised Sea Port (formerly, Oktyabrsk) handled 52 TEU, down 81.9 per cent.
