With the shift to a zero-emission society accelerating globally, the shipping industry is under increasing pressure to manage, report and ultimately end greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Emission-free shipping will be based on digital technology and data-driven processes. As a leading classification society responsible for supporting shipping companies with regulatory compliance, classnk has developed a tool to facilitate GHG emissions management at ship and fleet level. ZETA – Zero Emissions Transition Accelerator – ClassNK's new solution helps A , shipowners and charterers with the right CO2 It enables them to monitor their emissions and simulate and report carbon intensity indicator (CII) ratings. It offers a high degree of reliability with data validated by ZETA class, while its user-friendly design facilitates the secure sharing of emissions information over a common platform. Also, there is no need to install any other software as ZETA is hosted in the cloud. Shipmasters who submit data about managed ships to the “ClassNK MRV Portal” to comply with reporting regulations such as IMO-DCS and EU-MRV can use this data for ZETA, eliminating the need to submit additional information specifically for GHG management. Shipowners and charterers can also access ZETA by using data about ships they own or charter, provided that they obtain permission from the data owner – ie the ship operating company.ClassNK ZETA consists of four key features: Ship Tracking, Fleet Tracking, Simulation and Periodic Reporting.Based on the current ship operating situation, Ship Monitor instantly displays each ship's estimated annual CO2 emissions and CII ratings to support decision making regarding possible corrective actions. Fleet Monitoring displays the same information across the fleet and allows users to evaluate the impact of emission reduction measures by comparing them to historical emissions data. The simulation shows changes in a ship or fleet's CO2 emissions and CII ratings following the implementation of emission reduction measures such as slow steaming, using an energy-efficient device, or using an alternative fuel. This allows the shipping company to compare the effectiveness of these measures in the context of ship or fleet operations. Finally, the Periodic Report details the emissions performance of ships and fleets to meet stakeholder reporting requirements. It provides a voyage summary for individual ships and reflects their CO2 emissions, CII ratings, and speed-CO2 emissions performance. At the fleet level, it provides a fleet summary and describes each ship's CO2 emissions, CII ratings and EEOI (Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator) performance. All reports can be downloaded as PDF with support for CSV and Excel formats.
