Trade flows passing through the ports in China in January-July 2011 increased by 13.4% compared with the same period of 2010, to nearly 5.19 billion tons, the PRC Ministry of Transport said.
The country’s seaports handled for the period 3.54 bn tons, a 13.1 percent growth from last year’s figures, river ports demonstrated a 14.1 percent increase to 1.64 billion tons.
Seven-month container throughput grew by 12.9% to 92.18 million TEUs, container volume handled by seaports increased by 12.2% to 82.25 million TEUs.
