THE Chicago Rockford International Airport will receive US$11.3 million in funding from the US Department of Transportation to restore runways and taxiways, says Democratic Congresswoman Cheri Bustos.
'The Chicago Rockford International Airport is doing great work to grow and expand their operations,' she said. 'They are an economic hub for our region of Illinois and create good-paying jobs in our community.'
US senators say the funding will help support local job growth, create a safer airport and boost the state's economic development.
'Investing in our airport infrastructure is vital to the strength of our state's transportation systems and our local economies,' Democratic US Senator Tammy Duckworth said.
'This funding will help ensure Chicago Rockford International Airport has the necessary resources to make much-needed improvements and support local job growth,' she said.
