CEBU Pacific announced signing a five-year agreement with Neste, the world's premier sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) producer, reports the Manila Standard.
This partnership aims to investigate the supply and procurement of sustainable aviation fuel in the Asia Pacific region.
Under the leadership of the Gokongwei group, this airline's collaboration with Neste underscores its unwavering dedication to reducing its environmental footprint and delivering more environmentally sustainable travel experiences to its passengers.
This initiative aligns with the long-term ambitions of the global aviation industry, which seeks to attain net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
'Carbon emissions are a pressing concern in the aviation industry. To this end, cebu Pacific has laid out initiatives to address our emissions footprint, with a primary focus on integrating SAF in its operations,' said Cebu Pacific chief strategy officer Alex Reyes.
'This will consequently minimise the environmental impact generated from our flights.'
