SWISS global engineering group cavotec has secured two significant contracts, totalling US$7 million, to supply its advanced PowerMove shore power systems to two major Mediterranean ports.
These systems are designed to enable cruise ships and roro vessels to connect to shore power, effectively reducing emissions and supporting more eco-friendly port operations, reports Greece's Container News.
The first contract includes several PowerMove mobile cable management systems tailored for both cruise and roro vessels. Deliveries are set to start in mid-2025 and finish by year-end.
The second contract covers the delivery of two PowerMove shore power systems, expected in the first quarter of 2026. These installations will allow two cruise vessels to connect to shore power simultaneously, further bolstering sustainable practices at the port.
