Brokers say MSC finalising deal for four 20,000-TEUers
THE Italian-Swiss Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) is said to be finalising a newbuilding order for up to four 20,000 TEU ships at Hyundai Heavy Industries.
MSC declined comment when questioned by Lloyd's List. But several brokers have reported that the carrier has booked two ships at US$155 million apiece, with an option for two more.
MSC already has two 19,224 TEUers in service, the MSC Oscar and the MSC Oliver, built by Daewoo, with 18 same size ships to on order.
