On Feb 13, 2018, at 7.15 p.m. the 'Toa Maru', while en route from Ube to Hiroshima, ran aground in Hiroshima Bay due to a navigational mistake. The vessel scratched its bottom, but no severe damage occurred. The ship arrived at Etajima at 9 a.m. on Feb 15.
