Yangzijiang Shipbuilding delivers CMA CGM Pantheon, the second of ten 24,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessels, ahead of schedule and with advanced features.
Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has successfully delivered the CMA CGM Pantheon, the second vessel in a series of 24,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel ultra-large container ships for CMA CGM, as reported by Shanghai's iMarine.
The ship departed from Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding on its maiden voyage following a naming and delivery ceremony held on July 21. Construction of the vessel began in February 2025, and it was handed over an impressive 71 days ahead of schedule.
The Pantheon is the second of ten vessels ordered by CMA CGM in June 2023, with each vessel costing approximately US$240 million. Deliveries for this series are scheduled between 2026 and 2027. This order has made Yangzijiang the first privately owned Chinese shipbuilder to construct 24,000 TEU dual-fuel container ships.
The vessel is registered with Bureau Veritas of France. It measures 399.9 meters in length, 61.30 meters in beam, and 33.5 meters in depth, with a design draft of 14.5 meters. It is equipped with 18,600 cubic meters of membrane-type fuel tanks, enabling round-trip Asia-Europe services on a single LNG refueling.
With a speed of 21.55 knots, the Pantheon is described as one of the most environmentally friendly and technically advanced ultra-large container ships currently in service.
