THE Azerbijani capital of Baku will soon be linked to Tianjin, China's major port city serving Beijing, by a twice weekly freighter service from Silk Way West Airlines

THE Azerbijani capital of Baku will soon be linked to Tianjin, China's major port city serving Beijing, by a twice weekly freighter service from Silk Way West Airlines. The Baku-based service will close the strategic gap in the carrier?s network by offering full freighter services to booming Northern China, said Silk Ways West president Wolfgang Meier, reported London's Air Cargo News.

'We have noticed a strong demand east and west bound with automotive and aerospace related goods leading the commodity list,' said Mr Meier.

'Throughout the whole planning process there was a great cooperation with representatives of Tianjin Airport in order to set up the new flight for us for which we are thankful,' he said.

Silk Ways West will fly Fridays and Sundays, connecting Baku hub to 45 destinations in China, Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and North America.
