ASIAN Terminals Inc (ATI) saw its second quarter net income surge 26 per cent year on year to PHP1.03 billion (US$19.6 million), driven by record cargo volumes at Manila South Harbour (MSH) and Batangas Container Terminal (BCT). Revenues from port operations were up 12 per cent to PHP3.41 billion.
In the six months ending June, net income soared 53 per cent to PHP2.14 billion on revenue growth of 24 per cent to reach PHP7.04 billion, reported Manila's BusinessWorld.
ATI said it handled a record 650,000 TEU at the MSH in the first half of the year, an increase of 15 per cent from last year.
