Guess will shut all its mainland China stores by March, citing weak localization and strategic gaps, as reported by South China Morning Post.
US fashion brand Guess will close all its stores in mainland China by the end of March, reports Hong Kong's South China Morning Post. Analysts stated that the decision reflects weak localization and gaps in strategy.
The company informed customers in late February that it would shut both online and offline outlets. As of Monday, all products had been removed from its flagship stores on the e-commerce platform Tmall.
In a notice on its Tmall stores, Guess confirmed the closure of its official online shop and stated that all products had already been withdrawn. The brand added that it planned to reposition itself in China under a new business model.
