Ukrainian military intelligence targets Russian landing ships in Sevastopol, destroying key assets and highlighting ongoing maritime conflict.

Ukrainian military intelligence hit two Russian landing ships moored at Sevastopol port in a drone strike, reported Fort Lauderdale's Maritime Executive.

The attack targeted the Yamal and Nikolay Filchenkov, both of which are used to ferry military supplies across the Black Sea.

This strike was notable as Russia had previously withdrawn most naval assets from Sevastopol due to persistent Ukrainian drone and missile threats. The operation also destroyed a Podlyot-K1 radar system valued at US$5 million, which was intended to blind air defenses.

Ukraine's special-mission unit, Prymary, carried out the attack, focusing on the topsides of the two amphibious ships. The extent of the damage is still being assessed, according to Ukraine's general staff.

The Prymary group has been active since 2025, previously releasing footage of strikes on Russian aircraft, landing craft, and radar systems in Crimea.

This operation followed Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure, including two strikes last week on the Tuapse terminal. Russia confirmed the incidents, reporting one fatality.

Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian petroleum export facilities from Novorossiysk to Primorsk, underscoring its strategy of long-distance strikes against critical supply chains.
